The Big "O" BIO

I was born in a patch of prickly pear cactus on a vista in West Texas.  Actually, in a hospital in Weatherford, Texas.  The doctor took a look at me and said to my parents, "Are you really gonna keep it?"  They thought about it for a while and decided to give me a shot.  I thank them for it every day.

Grew up an Army brat.  Moved around the U.S. and Europe throughout my childhood and teenage years.  Learned to speak German at 6 or 7.  When in Rome, or Munich, know what I mean?  Because I was on the move every couple of years, I learned how to make friends fast.  This skill would help me get into radio eventually.

After high school, I went to what was then Oho Valley College.  I played baseball and went to class occasionally.  After a couple of years I decided to join the Army, just like my Pops.  I could go on forever about my experiences as an infantryman but I will spare you.  I will however tell you that the men and women in uniform, serving us all deserve your support and respect.  I hold them high esteem.

After my first tour, I came back to the Mid-Ohio Valley.  Just two days after my separation, I started working part-time here at WNUS.  That was twenty years ago, soon to be 21!  During that time I have accumulated 4 children, a couple of wives, and literally hundreds of friends.  WNUS listeners are my kind of people.  I appreciate your loyalty to the radio station and the good times we have had over the years.  My job satisfaction comes from the relationships we have built.  Keep listening, I'll keep talking, and in the words of Trace Adkins, "Turn it up some!"

Justin Moore has already used photos of his daughters to plead for votes, but yesterday he Tweeted, "Did I mention that every day you don't vote for me for New Artist at VoteAcm.com you will uncontrollably crap your pants?" Hunter Hayes posted a personal thank-you to every fan who Tweeted that they'd voted for him. No surprise that nominee Jerrod Niemann takes a humorous approach in a video on YouTube.
